SMART WOMEN: STEPPING UP TO VICTORY

Goals vs. Victories
What do you think is better - achieving a goal or having a victory?

If you want more success, money, happiness or anything else that makes your life better, it's important to know the difference. Otherwise, you might waste your time and energy chasing something that won't ever be enough.

A GOAL is a targeted event or outcome that you chose and pursue. You take steps and use methods that result in successful outcomes. Work goals might include earning more money, being promoted, finding a more rewarding job, or winning an award. Personal goals could be exercising regularly, getting your first apartment, having a baby, or buying a house. These are definite, measurable outcomes for specific efforts.

In contrast, a VICTORY is the “something good” that happens inside when you stretch past your current limits, often in pursuit of an idea or a burning desire. Sometimes victory takes you further than you ever dreamed. Other times, victory lays the foundation for bigger goals and future successes.

Victory provides you with the push you need to succeed in the midst of overwhelming challenges. Victory often begins with a goal...but never ends there.

One woman's victory can inspire others. What's the most VICTORIOUS thing you've ever done and how was it a victory for you?
I'm looking forward to hearing from- and being inspired by - you!
